Jaipur - All 27,000 spectators will be frisked and made to pass through metal detectors before Monday's limited-overs cricket international between India and Sri Lanka after a series of bomb blasts in India's capital, police said.
About 3 000 security personnel will be posted in and around the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur for the third one-dayer of the seven-match series, police superintendent Vishal Bansal said Sunday.
Bansal told reporters that extra security measures were being put in place to ensure the safety of the teams and fans following three blasts in New Delhi that killed at least 61 people and seriously injured another 188.
Jaipur is about 240 kilometers (150 miles) west of New Delhi.
Police superintendent Subhash Bisnoi said the teams have been advised to stay in their hotel.
"The police are checking hotels and vehicles coming into Jaipur to guard against any terrorist threat," Bansal said.
Security personnel will patrol the route from the teams' hotel to the cricket stadium, he said, adding that spectators will not be allowed to carry anything into the stadium, including handbags, water bottles and cigarettes.
