Fight against doping heats up

Monte Carlo, Monaco - About 60 athletes, coaches, medical experts and anti-doping officials have met with IAAF staff to coordinate the fight against doping and steroids.
The International Association of Athletics Federations, the sport's governing body, said Sunday's meeting marked the first time the five different groups had met together.
"The point was for all parties to get together," IAAF spokesperson Nick Davies said on Monday.
"Nothing was decided that is changing anything, but it was more to have a forum of the stakeholders to allow everyone to express themselves."
IAAF president Lamine Diack said Sunday's meeting was called "to discuss what more we can do in the fight against doping".
"Getting everyone together gave us a lot of food for thought," Davies said.
In a key move, two task forces were set up to examine doping and nutrition issues. The task forces will report back to the IAAF Council, which meets April 9-11 in Doha, Qatar.
