White set to exit as Bok coach

Cape Town - Jake White is set to announce he is quitting as coach of the South African rugby team on Wednesday, less than a fortnight after leading the Springboks to World Cup glory in France.
White has called a press conference in Cape Town for 12:00 where he is likely to announce that he will stand down as coach when his current contract expires at the end of the year after he failed to reapply for his job.
The 43-year-old, who has been in charge of the national team since 2004, has been in hot demand with the Australian Rugby Union revealing on Tuesday that White's agent had been in touch about the vacant Wallabies post.
He has also been linked to the England and Wales coaching positions.
Press reports said that White feels slighted at being expected to reapply for his position after steering South Africa to their second World Cup triumph at the Stade de France on October 20.
The South African Rugby Union is understood to be considering four candidates as coach, including former Springbok winger Chester Williams, Pretoria Blue Bulls coach Heyneke Meyer and Pieter de Villiers, who is in charge of the under-21 side.
