Ertugral's Chiefs future secure

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs' victory over Orlando Pirates in the Absa Premiership game in Mafikeng on Saturday appears to have assured Muhsin Ertugral's future as club coach next season.

Ertugral's stay at Naturena has been the subject of speculation following the team's poor performance since the beginning of the season, but the Amakhosi's weekend performance has brought hope for greater things next season.

Chiefs' manager Bobby Motaung said that there is no reason for Ertugral to leave the team next season.

"It is always nice to beat Orlando Pirates as it creates a nice vibe among our supporters and everyone at the club.

"There has been speculation about Ertugral leaving the team, but I see no reason why the coach should leave when he still has a two-year contract with us.

"Muhsin will remain with the team and I think our recent good performance shows that he has laid a good foundation for happy days to return next season."

Motaung also disclosed that the Turkish-born coach had made recommendations about players needed for next season.

"We will be making an official statement with regards of signing new players after our last game against Black Leopards on Sunday."

Motaung refused to talk about Maritzburg City striker Scara Mthembu whom the Glamour Boys are reported to have signed ahead of Orlando Pirates.

Reports that Chiefs have renewed their interest in Golden Arrows' midfielder Papi Zothwane has been shot down by the Durban-based team's boss Mato Madlala.

"It's news to me. I meet the chairperson of Kaizer Chiefs Kaizer Motaung at our PSL meetings and he has never said anything to me regarding the services of Papi Zothwane."
