Johannesburg - Lesotho sprang the surprise of the second qualifying round for the 2002 African Nations Cup by drawing 1-1 in the Democratic Republic of Congo on Wednesday.
Even a 59th-minute goal from Mwula Moro for the Lions did not demoralise the Southern Africa minnows and Kabelo Mosothoane stunned the 50 000 Kinshasa crowd by equalising with 15 minutes left.
The last time Lesotho visited the Congolese capital they conceded seven goals in a 1994 Nations Cup qualifier and the hosts were
again expected to win comfortably.
Ghana, who have won the competition a record-equalling four times, lead Group 6 with four points after two rounds. Zimbabwe have three, Lesotho two and DR Congo one. - Sapa-AFP
