Johannesburg - Nigerian soccer fans are confident that the Super Eagles will beat Bafana Bafana in the upcoming 2010 African Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifier game on Sunday in Abuja.
On the Nigerian version of Kickoff.com, fans are expecting nothing less than a resounding victory.
Anything less, against the minnows of South Africa, will be unacceptable.
"Go Eagles!," said a fan by the name of Frank while Joseph commented, "Bafana Bafana will fall (as usual) in Abuja!!"
This past Tuesday, Nigeria drew 1-1 with Austria in Austria and supporter ND George had this to say: "Nigeria could not beat Austria but we shall and will continue beating South Africa because we are better. Do you think Bafana can beat Austria? My friend, we are in the same category with Egypt, Cameroon, Ghana and maybe Cote D'Ivoire."
Nigeria are ranked 39th on the Fifa World Rankings, 30 places above Bafana Bafana and this too obviously inspires Nigerian confidence.
Another fan hit out at the recent acquisition of the latest Bafana coach Joel Santana and boldly predicted a 6-0 drubbing.
"Bafana Bafana, you must bring along your pap and your mague so that we can knock you down very well. How come you hire a coach that cannot speak English, a coach who has to communicate with his players through an interpreter. Shame on you Bafana Bafana. You must also come along with your basket to take your 6-0."
Also on Nigeria's Kickoff.com, Super Eagles skipper Nwanko Kanu is positive that his team have learned from their match against Austria and will be ready for South Africa.
"It was a drawn game but we took a lot of things away from the game with the Austrians. We fought hard, held our own and proved that we were in good match form," said the Portsmouth star.
"On Sunday, we have the impetus to go in there and perform."
The match kicks off at 17:00.
