Potential Bafana coaches named

Johannesburg - Pitso Mosimane and Steve Komphela have been given a chance to stake their claims for a permanent appointment to coach Bafana Bafana.
The two were named by the SA Football Association on Friday to lead the national team during next month's Cosafa Cup in Gaborone, Botswana.
Simon Ngomane, a member of the Safa technical committee which is searching for a new Bafana coach, said on Sunday that both local men, Mosimane and Komphela, could do their hopes of coaching Bafana a power of good if they did well in the Cosafa Cup.
The technical committee presented Safa on Friday with 13 names of potential coaches to take charge of Bafana.
They are Brazilians Carlos Alberto Parreira and Luiz Felipe Scolari, Sven Goran-Eriksson, Dutch duo Frank Rijkaaard and Guus Hiddink, Patrice Nouveau, Kalusha Bwalya, Christopher Eghuaven, Stephen Keshi plus SA coaches Mosimane, Komphela, Jomo Sono and Gordon Igesund.
Commercial body 'independent'
Safa ushered in a new era of professional soccer by announcing that a 13-man committee would be formed to run the national teams, including Bafana and the women's national team.
The three CEOs of Safa (Raymond Hack), PSL (Trevor Phillips) and Danny Jordaan of the 2010 World Cup local organising committee will be part of the new body.
This was confirmed on Sunday by Hack who added that while the new commercial body would be independent, Safa had the power to intervene if the new body failed to live up to its mandate.
The body will also run a new professional referees committee.
A managing director or CEO will be employed to oversee the day-to-day running of the body.
