Johannesburg - Trinidad and Tobago's newly appointed head coach, Stuart Fevrier, got off to a good start on his African safari.

The Caribbean islanders, who complete their tour with a match against Bafana Bafana in Port Elizabeth on June 14, drew 1-1 with Kenya in Nairobi at the weekend and defeated the Kenyan Olympic side 2-0 on Monday.

Trinidad get a final warm-up for their match against Bafana, which is being staged to promote South Africa's 2010 World Cup bid campaign, when they meet Botswana in Gaborone next Tuesday (June 10). Prior to leaving Trinidad, Fevrier signed a four-year contract with the national association.

"What we are trying to do is build confidence and morale.

"Over the past few months the team have been depressed following some disappointing results.

"I could see this game was crucial for them. I am happy for the players that we got a fair result but I still feel we could have done better.

"But it is a good start," Fevrier told TTFF Media after the 1-1 draw against Kenya.

"We expect that our final game of the tour against South Africa will be our toughest one but we have three games before that. I believe these games will give us sufficient preparation.

"This is a good opportunity for me to see the players at international level. We have some foreign-based players in the team so this will also allow me the chance to familiarise myself with them," Fevrier said.

Fevrier named a 20-man squad for the African tour which includes five overseas based players.

They are Falkirk striker Collin Samuels, the Wrexham duo of Carlos Edwards and Hector Sam, Crewe Alexandra goalkeeper Clayton Ince and Longford Town's Irish-based defender, Avery John.

Also included is defender Brent Sancho, who is still attached to American A-league club Portland Timbers.

The Squad:

Clayton Ince (Crewe Alexandra, England), Hector Sam, Carlos Edwards (both Wrexham, Wales), Nigel Pierre, Keyeno Thomas (both Joe Public), Peter Ramon Fortune (Arima Fire), Nigel Daniel, Travis Mulraine (both CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh), Brent Sancho (Portland Timbers, United States), Derek King, Kerwyn Jemmot, Jan Michael Williams, Reynold Carrington, Silvio Spann (all Vibe CT 105 W Connection), Collin Samuels (Falkirk, Scotland), Jason Scotland (unattached), Conrod Smith (Caledonia AIA), Avery John (Longford Town), Anton Pierre (Defence Force) and Dale Saunders (Starworld Strikers).
