Port Elizabeth - Belgium-based midfielder Elrio Van Heerden has urged his Bafana Bafana teammates to give 101% commitment when they face Nigeria in the World Cup/Africa Cup of Nations qualifier game set for Port Elizabeth on Saturday.
Van Heerden, who has only recently recovered from an injury that sidelined him for more than six months, has remained positive that South Africa will qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Angola in 2010 and predicted victory for Bafana Bafana against the Super Eagles on Saturday.
"I am sure the players are aware of what is expected from them when we play against Nigeria on Saturday. There is a lot at stake in the game, but we are more desperate to win it this time, so as to salvage our pride and add to the number of points to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.
"Although they are missing a few key players, the Nigerian team remains a very strong side and our players will need to give 101% effort to beat them. I have full confidence in our players and I trust that they will beat Nigeria on Saturday."
Van Heerden has also advised Bafana players that a good form of defence is to attack.
"We have to attack and unsettle them in their own half from the first minute of the game. If we create a lot of good chances there is no way that we can fail to at least get one goal."
