Brotherhood blasts peace with Israel

2012-11-22 21:14

Cairo — The leader and top cleric of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood has denounced peace efforts with Israel, urging holy war to liberate Palestinian territories.

Mohammed Badei's call on Thursday comes just a day after Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi, who also hails from the Brotherhood, succeeded in brokering a truce to end eight days of Israel-Hamas fighting.

Under the deal, Gaza's ruling Hamas is to stop rocket fire into Israel while Israel is to cease airstrikes and allow the opening of the strip's long-blockaded borders.

Badei says "jihad is obligatory" for Muslims and that peace deals with Israel are a "game of grand deception". He says there's been enough negotiations, the "enemy knows nothing but language of force".

The Brotherhood and its members don't recognise Israel and refuse to hold direct talks with Israelis.

"Badei says jihad is obligatory for Muslims and that peace deals with Israel are a game of grand deception". Does everyone get it now?

To the extent that the christian-jewdea alliance is hell bent on killing muslims whether they are in palestine or yemen or afghanistan, the Imam is right on self defence basis as zionists always package their rage. Only arms and flow of blood will ever liberate palestine not submission, it has been like that for 1000s of years and no zionist/evangelical diatribe can change that.

Get what Fred? That some cleric has called for defense against a brutal, oppressive, racist, murderous, land grabbing regime? Why is this odd? How about, for example, a Chief Israeli Rabbi calling for the killing of Palestinian infants and non-Jews. Are we supposed to "get something" here to? Fidel was right about you - you have got to be "working from the basement of the Israeli embassy". You deliberately distort comments to suit your sly agenda, and ignore those that don't; not to mention the shameless repetition of claptrap that you copy and paste in contravention of the News24 Comments Policy.

All the while, hundreds of thousands of innocent Muslims are being slaughtered and maimed by the unelected dictators and Jihadists in your midsts. Tragic and dumb.

Two groups of people resented and opposed the creation of an Israeli homeland for the Jewish people after the horrors of World War II, notwithstanding that the amount of land was a tiny, minuscule slither, and Jewish people had inhabited that land for millennia. Guess which groups that was, and is. Racist Muslims and White Supremacists.

      fred.fraser.12 - 2012-11-23 00:03

Jeremy, saying that someone said something without a proper quote and source is merely personal opinion. In your case, it's outright delusion and crazy nonsense.

      fred.fraser.12 - 2012-11-23 00:08

Jeremy, no Chief Rabbi has EVER said that. It's madness to make something up, believe it, and make further violent decisions based on that made-up belief. The outcome: your own community and children are harmed.

      jeremy.bard.31 - 2012-11-23 00:52

Oh dear, Fred, for an Israeli agent you are either extremely ill informed or an awful liar. Let me provide you with just one example (there are many): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nt13H4GMtaI Visit this link and watch & listen carefully (if the moderator removes the link, just google "Chief Israeli Rabbi - 'Kill Palestinian Infants!' "). Then crawl back into your basement with your tail between your legs and think up more junk to post repeatedly on News24. Your credibility has hit a new low. If you need more examples, go find them yourself. I'm not here to teach an agent how to do his job.

Firstly, there is no CHIEF RABBI at the conference. It was a conference of a slither of extremist Rabbis. Extremists exist in all religions unfortunately. Secondly, the conference wasn't about killing PALESTINIAN children. It was an academic discussion about whether or not is was permissible to kill children in retaliatory attacks on those who oppose Jewish teachings and attack Jews. Ofcourse you would latch onto this YouTube with the sensationalized and faulty label. Again, you are doing NOTHING to help the Palestinians. You are only adding to their suffering, that is self-imposed, based on their plainly stated objective to destroy Israel, incited and armed by the unelected dictators of the region who thankfully are falling one by one.

      fred.fraser.12 - 2012-11-23 07:44

Further, notice the vociferous opposition to these Rabbis among members of the audience. Pity this same discourse and opposition doesn't exist among Muslims to the open violence of Hamas and the Jihadists in their midsts. Perhaps then HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of innocent people, mainly Muslims, would not be slaughtered and maimed by Hamas and these Jihadists. The fact that you focus on this slither of extremist Rabbis, who do nothing in comparison to Hamas and the Jihadists, encouraged by Imam after Imam, is tragic and dumb on your part. Wake up!

Who should "crawl into their hole" now?

Two groups of people resented and opposed the creation of an Israeli homeland for the Jewish people after the horrors of World War II, notwithstanding that the amount of land was a tiny, minuscule slither relative to the vast lands of the one group, and Jewish people had inhabited that land for millennia. Guess which groups that was, and is. Racist Muslims and White Supremacists.

Imagine the small, hateful hearts of these people.

      patsy.smith.125 - 2013-01-01 10:35

There are ALWAYS fanatics, in every religion, everywhere. Unfortunately violence in one form or another is recommended in almost every holy book (including the Christian Bible). If only everyone would just follow the tenet of 'DO INTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE UNTO YOU', the world would be a happier and better place

Wow radical muslims are insane. Calling their people to war and martyrdom.

  • alananthonygreen - 2012-11-23 08:00

Um Fred. Some original input please.

Muslim Brotherhood urging holy war... nothing surprising from the religion of peace, hate, murder and holy wars. Egypt will be destroyed in one day... the nice thing here is that Israel will finally get the Sinai back! When Israel fights terror they do so while terrorists hide behind women and children... Egypt having a normal armed forces would be destroyed in 24 hours. Egypt has already lost 3 wars to Israel, I guess people have short memories; maybe war is the only way to remind them that war is a bad thing and not a religious requirement. Sad how Islam makes this world so violent, from Kashmir to Chechnya, from Syria to Libya the religion of peace is the most racist cult on the face of the world.

      Tony-Lapson - 2012-11-23 11:22

You are lucky yöù don't live in an Arabic country Doberman. You could be executed for your remarks.

  • henry.justice.372 - 2012-11-23 15:20

Instead of a jihad/holy war to "liberate" the palestinians, i'm sure with some negotiation Israel will "give" gaza and the west bank to Egypt. But do the Egyptians really want gaza back? They can have it if they ask. Truth is nobody wants to deal with the problem ,"the palestinians"
