China: Time to attack Somali pirate bases

2011-05-21 17:51

Beijing - China's military is urging land attacks on Somali pirate strongholds in a bold call signalling the armed forces' growing assertiveness.

China's navy has taken part in anti-piracy patrols in the Gulf of Aden since December 2008, but the government has not advocated direct attacks on land areas from which pirates operate.

However, at a news conference in Washington on Wednesday, General Chen Bingde said he believes land bases must be attacked in order for counter-piracy campaigns to be effective.

The US and other countries taking part in the patrols have steered clear of land attacks for fear of becoming mired in ongoing campaigns in Somalia - a lawless nation where 18 US servicemen were killed in the capital, Mogadishu, in 1993.

Their forces must also get some practice--they probably also have some new inventions like ray guns and robot fighters that they want to test and try out. If their soldiers are like the olympic games performers they will quickly wipe out the terros, and then they will stay there to "assist" a new "friendly" government.

No movies, if something like that happens, it will never make headlines because the Chinese will not allow journos in there while they are cleaning up.

China, put your money where your mouth is! Do not wait for America to do your dirty work. Invade Somalia and solve the problem. Wait for America and you will wait for the rest of you life. America is tired of doing the world's dirty work work.

Acting efficiently against these vermin is long overdue, looks like the Chinese are the only country with the b***s to stop scum holding the world at ransom.

Hooray to China. This should have been done well before the invasion of Libya. The project should go beyond that. It must help reboot the country and kick out the extemist rebels for good. Have the world bodies UN/US/AU/EU/whoever concerned run the country for the next 50 years.

      Roman Moroni - 2011-05-22 13:50

NO!!!!!!!!! Please remove the AU from those options!!!

And here we go - take heed Africa. Your "friends" will not take any #$%$# if their interests or property on African soil is threatened - they will not pussyfoot around issues like the west does out of fear of annoying your sensitive souls, if necessary they will act - there is nothing like a free lunch.

At least the Chinese have the balls to look after their interests. Not like the pathetic liberal weak west. These are not poor fishermen that carry out thesec attacks but organised murderers. If these thugs hide behind the population then tough luck. I beleive that everyone in those coastal villagers is involved somehow in this piracy. Bomb these backward pigs into the stoneage. Meybe England and America can take them in and let them live off the taxpayer.

The Chinese people and possibly their government are to be admired. I do not think China will ever be seriously threatend by Islam despite some problem areas which if they present to much of an irritant to Beijing will be quietly 'calmed'. Whatever one thinks about a totalitarian centraly administered government I would prefer to live there than Angola or Mogahdishu. China is emeging from many years of colonial domination but the Chinese have learned, unlike the Africans and muzzies who are to stupid to wipe thier bums properly. Give me a Chinese future rather than a PC ridden leftwing marxist led socialist 3rd world cesspit. Yeah I know the Chinese are COMMUNISTS.But they are morphing into something entirely different. Whether we like it or not China is the next global attitude changer. Be prepared oh you politicians, espescialy those (most) who the Chinese regard as fools. You will not be able to suck up to these blokes so easily.
