Four dead in Niger anti-French protest

Niamey - At least four people were killed on Friday when a march in Niger against French newspaper Charlie Hebdo's cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad turned violent, two police sources told Reuters.

"There was one police officer killed and three civilians," said a police source. "Some of the protesters were armed with bows and arrows as well as clubs. The clashes were very violent in some places," he said.
