Libya militias burn Tripoli security HQ

2012-11-04 16:28

Tripoli - Libyan militiamen set a security headquarters building on fire on Sunday in central Tripoli and looted it as fighting raged with a rival armed militia.

Government-aligned fighters also looted shops in the Zawiya Street area which was strewn with goods and debris.

The fight started just after midnight when two militias authorised by the official Supreme Security Committee (SSC) argued over a detained member of one of the armed groups, residents in the southern district of Sidi Khalifa said.

    Where are NATO murderers now?

      AnthonyfromAfrica - 2012-11-04 19:57

. It will be difficult to accept, but Nato, for by far the majority of Lbyans, are their HEROES. You have not a clue of whats happening in Libya. Their recent elections they had, PROVED beyond the slightest doubt that the Libyan people are soooo happy their TYRANT for forty years !!!, is now eating sand!! And what 'stability' is concerned; Libya at present attracts more foreign investments than SA !!!!!!! But you, and your silly, but violent loonies, carry on entertaining each other....!! That's all you LOOSERS are good at !

      punungwe - 2012-11-04 20:25

AnthonyfromAfrica are you a joker? The honest truth is that the elections would have been held anyway and much earlier if a deal brokered by President Zuma had been allowed by NATO to take effect. Moreover there would have been an orderly transition and absolutely none of this chaos would have happened. Stop lying to us that the Libyans are very happy with what is happening in their country today. You must be a NATO propagandist planted on this forum.

      fidel.mgoqi - 2012-11-04 21:24

Anthony, why would Libya need foreign investment when it was self sufficient employment wise (with tens of thousands of Africans getting employment in that country), a country with no sovereign debt whatsoever, and reserves exceeding $90 billion which haven't been returned by the western institutions. Libya was an independent country (not relying on foreign aid), in the truest sense of the word. But the Nato criminal pirates will not allow any country to be free of its influence.

      AnthonyfromAfrica - 2012-11-04 21:41

Punungwe, What are you on about??????? President Zuma landed at the wrong airport...............500 km out !!! He should have landed in Benghazi, instead of Tripoli!! May I just remind you that for the first month of this popular uprising, the opposition was UNARMED and demanded 'dialoque'. Than this violent psychopath said to the whole world; "The blood of these 'rebels' (aka oppostion) will flow in the streets of Libya" and "We will go door to door , and flush out these 'rats' (aka opposition)" And....he made truths of his threats, and started slaughtering his opposition. He even instructed his MIG fighter pilots to bomb opposition strongholds< ( the same as that other terrorist , assad ) You remember some of these brave Mig pilots landing on Malta ?? The Libyan opposition started the UNARMED demonstrations. gaddafi started his own civil war !! AND LOST !!!! You talk about; 'elections' You must be living in a crazed fantasy world; Don't you know; 'Dictators DON'T hold elections !!!! You don't have a clue what Libya is about, EVEN less than this Patrick, and THAT says a lot !!!! You must be one of these lunatics of the violent left, who commits one of the worst crimes possible; To abuse what you deny others; FREEDOM!!!

      AnthonyfromAfrica - 2012-11-05 05:22

Fidel, You must not talk about things, you have not got a clue about. There is a massive difference between 'investments' and 'foreign aid' and EVERY country needs investments !!! Talking about JOBS, it are only your slimy Chinese friends who distroy jobs in Africa!! Remember at the start of the Libyan uprising, European countries were pulling out a handfull of their nationals, while these rotten Chinese were the firsdt one on the run; --------------THIRTY THOUSAND of them !!!!!!!-------------- YOU ARE AN ENEMY OF THE LIBYAN PEOPLE!!!

      fidel.mgoqi - 2012-11-05 06:08

Your point neither supports your argument nor detracts from mine. Are you ever able to stick to the debate at hand, instead of throwing pointless obstacles and going on tangents. What does China has anything to do with Libya or this topic?

      AnthonyfromAfrica - 2012-11-05 07:33

. China has very much to do with Libya, it is today Libya's largest oil customer, but 'buying' at China's terms. Surely there must be by now tens of thousands of Chinese entered libya, mainly on false documents, like here in SA "It is amazing how so many people can entre a country seemingly unnoticed" Janet wilhelm Open your eyes, and you will see that where ever there are Chinese in Africa, they are the ones causing instability. "In the last five years more than 6000 Chinese shops have popped up in every dorp of South Africa, effectively forming the country's biggest-ever chain store. and, say retail experts, it amounts to a largely unlawful enterprise rhat threatens to destroy local commerce and costs the taxman billions" noseweek, november 2012 Surely , you are not THAT naive, not to realize ,that these slimy Chinese are causing havoc , all over Africa !!!!!

      fidel.mgoqi - 2012-11-05 13:15

"China has very much to do with Libya, it is today Libya's largest oil customer, but 'buying' at China's terms" What is wrong with that, even if it were true. Aren't the Chinese allowed to bargain when shopping for imports? ""In the last five years more than 6000 Chinese shops have popped up in every dorp of South Africa," As opposed to your Wal-Marts and other western businesses, or should western businesses be the only ones with the privilege to do business in SA. As for the rest of your post, it's so boneheadedly stupid I don't even know where to start. I suspect to correct your errors I'd have to begin from teaching you basic English. You are as dumb as you write!

      AnthonyfromAfrica - 2012-11-06 07:09

Fidel, Your comment re Wallmart, proofs, that your are the dumnest and most ignorant on these comment sites. You are pathetic, with all those silly history books, and your silly quote books, YOU are the one who has lost any sense of reality. Wallmart is a legitimate business, employing thousands of South Africans, and if they have ANY Amricans here, it would only be a handfull. The 6000 to 12000 Chinese shops that have propped up in the last few years, are just about all illegal and unlawful. They ONLY employ Chinese, and with most of them only knowing a few english words, it must be that they have only recently come ( illegally ) into SA. They pay NO taxes, and most of the goods from China are either smuggled into SA, or greatly underinvoiced. The Chinese are harming Africa like NO OTHER NATION EVER DID !!! Maybe, just maybe , when you start wiping the sh.t out of your anti Western eyes, you will start seeing reality !!!!!!

This is the freedom america wants for Syria. Giving power to ALqaeda and their likes to terrorise the people. All in the name of breaking the resistance against Israel.

A stable country with the highest social development in Africa turned into a rat invested, trash strewn, with half destroyed infrastructure by the west's humanitarian bombers. Only a fool would think that the motions of getting your finger dyed with purple ink would serve as a salve for the destruction and murders of Western imperialism. People do not eat ballot papers!

      AnthonyfromAfrica - 2012-11-05 02:00

. Your inmature outlook on African and ME politics is staggering. That you accuse Nato for (most) of the distruction in Libya, is utter BS, but that fits into your silly inmature anti Western crap! First of all, the Libyans themselves are extremely gratefull that Nato helped them get rid of this dangerous psychopath, and through that, saved the lives of tens of thousands of Libyans!! The main purpose of these Nato aistrikes was to distroy the Libyan airforce and army, who had been instructed by these monstrous gaddafies to slaughter their opposition. Only the scum of this world would have put their military depots amongst residential areas. If you would just snap for five minutes out of your silly inmature anti Western BS, you will see that Libya has today, hardly anything to do with Africa, ON ANY LEVEL. Does this mean ANYTHING to you???????????????????? Only a fool would deny that the motions of getting a finger dyed with purple ink, tens of thousands of Libyans gave their lives for their families and other libyans to have a better life !! Tell me, Whole cities and towns in Syria are in rubble, the kind of destruction that can only have been done from the air. Also Nato's doing????????????????????????????????? Or a simular pattern one did see in Libya......a psychopath clinging to power at any cost????????????????????????????

      fidel.mgoqi - 2012-11-05 13:59

"If you would just snap for five minutes out of your silly inmature anti Western BS, you will see that Libya has today, hardly anything to do with Africa, ON ANY LEVEL." Libya has EVERYTHING to do with Africa silly, it is geographically African. It is the NTC that lost the respect in Africa. Very likely as most Africans will not respect any government that calls European criminals from NATO to bomb their country to change their government.

      AnthonyfromAfrica - 2012-11-06 03:17

Fidel, You do not talk for 'most' Africans. First of all you are a RACIST par exelance, you are full of HATRED, and dont give a damn about this continent, nor its people. You talk, with the support of 3 to 5 % of Africans. Taking THAT in mind, you got a hellevue big mouth , with which you spew out 24/7 CRAP and BS!!!
