Sierra Leone's Koroma re-elected president

Freetown - Sierra Leone President Ernest Koroma was re-elected on Friday after sweeping presidential polls with 58.7% of the vote, with his rival Julius Maada Bio garnering 37.4R, the electoral body said.

"I hereby certify that 1 314 881 votes were cast in favour of Ernest Koroma [who] has been duly elected president of the republic of Sierra Leone," said Christiana Thorpe, head of the National Election Commission.

Bio scored 837 517, she said.
