Nairobi - The World Food Programme on Wednesday airlifted 10 tons of emergency supplies to Somalia, the worst affected country by a severe drought in the Horn of Africa region, the agency said.

The delivery, from the Kenyan capital, was headed to Mogadishu to feed malnourished children.

The agency plans to deliver 100 tons in total to feed 35 000 children every month, a spokesperson said.
