Lusaka – Zambian President Edgar Lungu has reportedly reappeared and "shamed" his critics who, had in the past few days cast doubt over his health, with some even suggesting that he had been flown to South Africa for medical treatment.

According to the Zambia Reports, Lungu appeared in public for the second time on Tuesday, at an event where he was seen swearing in eight judges.

Lungu was set to hit the campaign trail next week, the report said.

This came as reports in the past weeks claimed that Lungu had postponed attending ruling PF rallies as he was not well and had been flown to South Africa for treatment.

The country's main opposition party the United Party for National Development (UPND), even went further to  mock him over what was described as "his unexplained absence", saying he was suffering from "political pneumonia".
