Zim court orders invaders to vacate white farmer's land 'immediately' – report

A Zimbabwean court has reportedly ordered "illegal occupiers" of a white farmer's property in Goromonzi, to "vacate the land immediately", saying that the farmer was illegally removed from his property by the ministry of lands.

According to Daily News, Hector Dalton Ludick (senior), Hector Dalton Ludick (junior) and Jennifer Patricia Ludick filed a high court application seeking to retain ownership of their property which had been taken over by a man only identified as C Samuriwo.

In their court application, the Ludicks cited the lands ministry, as well as Attorney General Prince Machaya as respondents.

Jihadist insurgency: Trial of 189 suspected Islamist militants begins in Mozambique

The trial of 189 suspected Islamist militants began in Mozambique on Wednesday, with the accused allegedly involved in attacks against police and civilians in the northern province of Cabo Delgado.

The trial opened in a tent serving as an improvised courthouse inside a jail in Pemba, the provincial capital, with Mozambicans, Tanzanians, Congolese, Somalis and Burundians among the defendants, of whom 42 are women.

Over the last year, more than 50 people have been killed in gun, grenade and knife assaults in the growing jihadist insurgency, with the militants reportedly seeking to impose Sharia law in the Muslim-majority province.

Zim: Chamisa says working on 'grand plan' to unseat Mnangagwa 'peacefully' before 2023

Zimbabwe opposition leader Nelson Chamisa has reportedly said that he is "rallying his supporters countrywide" to unseat President Emmerson Mnangagwa "peacefully", following the country's disputed elections in July.

The southern African nation's top court in August dismissed the Movement for Democratic Change's bid to have presidential elections annulled over alleged rigging in favour of Mnangagwa.

In a unanimous ruling, Chief Justice Luke Malaba dismissed the application with costs after strongly criticising the legal challenge, AFP reported.

According to BBC, Uganda’s military chief of staff Leopold Kyanda said the troops needed to be safe first before they could defend the country.
