Bulawayo - A 4-year-old Zimbabwean girl miraculously survived two cold nights in a forest, which is home to dangerous animals, after she got lost on her way home from school, a report said on Friday.
According to the state-owned Chronicle newspaper, Ntokozo Mabhena was found sleeping near a tree in a forest that is home to predators, such as hyenas, leopards and poisonous snakes.
At least 100 villagers, together with seven police officers and their sniffer dogs, launched a search party when the toddler went missing after school on Friday last week.
According to the young girl’s family, they had already given up hope of finding her alive.
This came just less than six months after a 4-year-old boy, who went missing under mysterious circumstances, was found after a four-day search.
According to My Zimbabwe, the boy was found alive, lying naked on top of his uncle’s grave, a few metres away from his home.
The incident happened in January at Sivalo village in Nkayi, Matabeleland North.
