First results show early Zanu-PF lead

2013-08-01 21:53

Harare - The first results from Zimbabwe's legislative races show President Robert Mugabe's Zanu-PF party taking an early lead and even making some inroads into districts previously held by candidates of Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai's Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).

The first batch of district results from officials with the Zimbabwe Election Committee showed the Zanu-PF claiming 25 of the first 28 constituencies for which results were available, out of a total of 210.

The remaining three were claimed by the MDC.

haha Nomcebo, you are funny. Are you chinese? it appears so when i read your comment. Where do you get your information, from ZANU-PF? Why don't start a revolution already, maybe hold a big party for your commander in chief or chiefs, Juju and Bob. ANC wont let eff things up. Even i will vote ANC if the push comes to shove in the elections to keep Malema out. Now go and polish your dictators shoes.

      Benjamin Mwimba Benjamin - 2013-08-02 01:56

yes africa need sameone like malema for a realy freedom, 2014 in south africa the EFF comandat going to win the election.we not reject our parent but they have to understand that the babies grow end become a freind. Feik Mc Heither - 2013-08-02 04:43

Are you that desperate for bashing that you can't distinguish between a troll and common sense. I'd suggest no one comments to Nomcebo, let alone click that thumbs down icon. Leave her alone to ramble, she'll get tired and go to sleep...learn from your kids at home.

      Whatalotigot Smarties - 2013-08-02 06:51

Nomcebo. You are Probably high or something. How can you possibly say Zimbabwe has the best economy in the world? If it was so, why do most of the Zim people live off food supplied by the UN? Why is there so many Zim people in South Africa to try and survive? It is mentality like yours that has crippled Zimbabwe.

      fransvisserdsb - 2013-08-02 07:29

I really think Nomcebo was being satirical...

And u too go bek to europe

      Feik Mc Heither - 2013-08-02 04:50

@ Trust, to do exactly what in Europe? Clearly majority of Zimbabweans love Mugabe, so the minority must accept and go back home. Maybe start their own News24 and start moaning and bashing the government, there is always someone listening. Learn from the DA here in SA, never give up spirit.

      Azania Khathutshelo Smody - 2013-08-02 08:11

The first group we as south africans hv to send out is europeans not our fellows n 4 da record we won't chase any africans here in africa.

Morgan has no will to lead the country. He is an American - EU delegate. Morgan must prepare for 2019 and be an independent thinker not sent by azungu. You owe them and become permanent slaves

      WildCatSal - 2013-08-02 00:29

Enough people have suffered, enough have been bullied, enough have starved, enough have been tortured, enough is enough...! Don’t mourn over your bad decisions just start overcoming them with good ones. Learn to THINK and realise you do have CHOICES in life.

      Jason van Heerden - 2013-08-02 06:04

@Jedegwa you do know Mugabe is backed by the Chinese and you already know Morgan is backed by the US-EU. At the end of the day Zimbabwe is being economically colonized you just needed to vote for which puppet you preferred.

And these westerns gave you internet. So they gonna take the playground with and you gonna play with bananas in future. See high up there is the thing you call the sattelite, the microwave, the fiber. It makes you play with the phone and the computer.

  • Bob Trekfan - 2013-08-02 00:47

Dear Bob When i read headlines like this, two quotes by American Presidents come to mind. Millard Fillmore once said "May God save the country as it is clear the people will not". Bob, STOP stealing elections, the people are over it!!!!!!!! The other quote is Thomas Jefferson: "The tree of Liberty MUST be REFRESHED (not oppressed) from time to time with the blood of Patriots & tyrants" Bob i hope you know.... Your people are coming for you & and your generals & they are going to do exactly what Jefferson said 300 years ago

      Feik Mc Heither - 2013-08-02 04:58

Nah, Zimbabweans are just too cowardly to do such. If you think Jhb is infested with illegal Zims, go to Venda now, they even have their own villages, make one wonder who's voting for opposition if they are all here and in Botswana.

  • Feik Mc Heither - 2013-08-02 05:00

How on earth would one vote for a 89 years to be a president of a country? I'd rather invest my energy on taking them to an old age home.

      Jason van Heerden - 2013-08-02 05:56

Honestly man I have no idea but it is what it is. The thing is these same people will come to South Africa and take our jobs turning more people to crime.

There are more than 2 million Zimbabweans in SA who didn't bother to come home and vote, they expected us to do the dirty work.I urge South Africa and the world @ large 2 do a massive DEPORTATION of Zimbabweans so that we all suffer the consequences of NOT voting together.#Pissedoff#

  • Musawashe Moyo - 2013-08-02 06:33

Just wondering which part of the word rig some ppl dnt understand. Zanu PF cheated the whole election. Two wks ago, they could nt vote 70 000 policemen n two weeks later they vote 6 million ppl n release the results within 48hours. We need the word from Tsvangirai to declare n start the war. Mugabe took Zimbabwe from the colonisers with blood n he will go with blood, the only language he understands. Tsvangirai must come out of his hole and declare war. We are ready.

  • Mavukuvuku Nzima - 2013-08-02 06:38

You are right. They must live with the fact that they didn't as much as we are living with the fact that we voted for our current president, I dont live in Zim but I have a gut feeling that Mugabe is really protecting his country from being controlled by the Western power.

  • Mavukuvuku Nzima - 2013-08-02 06:55

Are they enjoying Bananas of RSA over they collapsing Contry? So stop pointing fingers mogabe is the hero of Zimbabwean residents

Check this site out. Zanu have up to 20 times more votes than MDC in some areas (mouse over the area to see the number of votes). Going to be interesting to check the map when the counting is finished. If Zanu win by a massive majority, then the Zimbos in SA must go back as there is obviously no problem in Zim and Bob is not a dictator, and the majority are happy with the way things are being run. We have our own unemployment problems, and those 4 million jobs must go to South Africans. You don't give your home and food to strangers and let your family starve and sleep on the pavement. If the fix is in, the Zanu went in with it on a massive scale. Time will tell.
