Cape Town – President Robert Mugabe’s Zanu-PF party has adopted a new economic blueprint aimed at spearheading the turnaround and development of Zimbabwe's economy in the next five years, a Herald report said on Thursday.

The economic plan which is dubbed Zimbabwe Agenda for Sustainable Socio-Economic Transformation (Zim Asset), identifies clusters which the party will prioritise up to the year 2018 when the country goes for another harmonised election.

The clusters include food security and nutrition, social services and poverty reduction, infrastructure and utilities and value addition and beneficiation, the report said.

The 116-page document is in line with Zanu-PF's manifesto and would be implemented "immediately".
