On Monday President Zuma released the long awaited Heher Commission report on higher education and training fees. 

The report recognises South Africans' right to further education and the state's constitutional duty to make this possible and further acknolwedges that due to economic hardships, this is currently not happening.

The Heher Commission was tasked to advise President Jacob Zuma on whether fee free education is possible, after nationwide protests on campuses in 2015 and 2016.
