2014-12-03 06:51

Two alleged looters were shot dead and 10 others were wounded in a clash with police in Bizana in the Eastern Cape.

A group of people who allegedly began looting goods from a truck carrying groceries became violent and attacked police officers, the SABC reported.

“This group of people became very violent and they also grabbed and physically assaulted a manager who came to assist and wanted to remove some of the goods that had fallen off the truck,” Brigadier Marinda Mills told the SABC.

“In the end it led to a shooting incident.”

Mills said the Independent Police Investigative Directorate was investigating the incident.
