Two men have been arrested in connection with the death of an 18-year-old matric pupil who was killed in a hijacking in Pinetown this week.

Lieutenant Colonel Vincent Mdunge said the two were arrested last night during a crime-prevention operation.

“We arrested two people. One of them bought the hijacked car,” he said.

The men will appear in court soon. Mdunge said two more men were still at large, but police were expected to arrest them soon.

The 18-year-old boy was shot dead and his brother wounded when the men allegedly hijacked their friend’s car in Pinetown on Wednesday.

The boy’s brother (22) was speaking to a friend when the men arrived in a vehicle and demanded the keys to the friend’s car.

They shot the 22-year-old in the leg when he jumped over the wall calling for help.

His 18-year-old brother, who was a twin, was shot in the face and died on the scene.
