The town of Hermanus in the Western Cape is a whole lot more than only about whalespotting, even though they are the main attraction.

When the whales aren’t there, what better way to pass the time than to go shopping?

All these shops are to be found in Village Square on Marine Drive, with the exception of the book store on Aberdeen Street.

The name of the shop means “beautiful” in Xhosa, and that is exactly what owner Marilyn Cilliers has in her delightful shop.

A discerning eye on her travels has filled this great little place with porcelain and knick-knacks, and irresistible jewellery from throughout the East and elsewhere. The pearls in spectacular colours are particularly wonderful.
