AG’s website hacked

2010-04-26 10:00

The Auditor-General’s official website has been hacked.

Its homepage is dark and carries a bold sign that reads “hacked”. The website also features a partially open, broken door leading into what appears to be a dark room.

A blogger on claims the Ashiyane Digital Security Team, which seems to have hacked the site, has a program that “automatically detects websites with lax security”.

Early indications are that the website has been hacked since Saturday.

A Google search of the website shows up the website’s homepage as “HACKED bY [Ashiyane Digital Security Team]” and “Greetz:All Ashiyane Members”.

The Auditor-General’s spokesperson Africa Boso, who was out of the office, said he would notify the AG’s office.
