ANC Youth League to march against crime, demand police visibility

The ANC Youth League in Gauteng is planning to march to the Daveyton police station to highlight an increase in car hijackings in the area.

“The ANCYL in Gauteng will tomorrow be marching to the Daveyton police station together with community members to highlight the increase in crime levels, and car hijacking incidences in particular, in the area,” provincial executive committee spokesperson Mbali Hlophe said today.

“Our march to the police station will be to demand an increase in police visibility in the area, for investigations to be conducted on the reported cases and killings, and importantly to ensure police do their work of fighting crime.”

She said the organisation would also be calling for the implementation of street committees.

The march would be led by ANC National Executive Committee member Pule Mabe and ANC Youth League National Task Team Convenor Mzwandile Masina.
