2011-11-23 09:07

The trial of a man accused of trying to abduct an 18-year-old girl outside a Florida high school would start in February in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court.

Magistrate Delize Smith told Mohammed Adams (21) today that his trial was set down for February 20 and February 21. She ordered that he remain in custody until then.

Adams, wrapped in a black and white shawl, kept his head down as the date was announced. He cast his eyes around the benches to look for family as he was led back to his holding cell.

Adams was arrested in connection with an attempt to abduct the Grade 10 teen outside Hoërskool Die Burger, west of Johannesburg, on October 19.

The Florida high school is the same one where Louise de Waal, 16, was abducted on October 12. Her burnt body was found on a farm in Magaliesburg later that day.Adams was denied bail on November 15.
