Former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana midfielder Andile Jali was involved in a car accident in Kokstad today.

“It’s not a terrible accident,” KZN traffic spokesperson Zinhle Mngomezulu said. The crash happened in Kokstad when Jali’s jeep collided with a bakkie that skipped a stop sign in the town’s CBD. Two passengers who were in the bakkie were also injured. A case has been opened against the driver of the bakkie for reckless driving.”

Jali, who plays for KV Oostende in Belgium’s professional league, was in the country after playing for Bafana Bafana in the national team’s 5-0 defeat to Brazil on Wednesday.

The former Pirates and University of Pretoria star is from Matatiele in the Eastern Cape, near Kokstad.
