Aren’t all our lives under threat?

2009-11-24 13:51

The life of ANC Youth League president Julius Malema is apparently,

and all of a sudden, under threat. I’m not surprised at all: our lives are all

under threat.

We are living in South Africa for goodness’ sake, where criminals

and the trigger-happy police are competing on who can shoot to kill more than

the other.

Anything sinister can happen to anyone at anytime.

Malema wakes up and decides that his life is in peril. Why? Only he

and a few comrades know.

Someone please call 10111, my life is under serious threat. Any

answer? I thought as much.

It is utter nonsense that taxpayers have to finance Malema’s VIP

protection unit. It is just not fair at all.

It’s a disgrace on the powers that

be who claim to have the interests of the poor and marginalised at heart.

Why can’t the ANC and its youth league pay for Malema’s protection?

Hate me if you want, but it is absurd that Malema will cost the

nation more than R3 600.000 a year. Yes, that is what he will cost us a year.

Don’t get me wrong, I have great respect for Malema for reasons I

can not mention here and now; but the Ministry of Police is out of order for

authorising and assigning VIP protection unit for him.

Mthembu, the third spokesperson of the ruling party in less than 12

months, claimed that prominent leaders of political parties are entitled to VIP

protection once their lives are in danger.

Does Malema amount to a prominent

leader? Malema is not even a leader of a political party. He is simply a leader

of a youth wing of the ruling party.

I urge the heads of youth organisations of IFP, PAC, DA, COPE etc

to apply for VIP protection units and let’s see what happens.
