Bafana to take on Ivory Coast

2011-10-27 09:19

Bafana Bafana will take on Ivory Coast in the Nelson Mandela Challenge at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Port Elizabeth on November 12, Safa announced today.

This will be Bafana’s first game since failing to qualify for next year’s Afcon tournament.

The Elephants have promised to bring their high-profile players who include Didier Drogba and Toure brothers Kolo and Yaya.

The West Africans say they take the game in a serious light as it forms part of their preparation for the Afcon finals co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea early next year.

Safa vice-president Chief Mwelo Nonkonyana said the association will donate R1 million towards the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund.
