Senzo Meyiwa will once again lead Bafana Bafana as they take on Nigeria in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier tonight.

Coach Ephraim “Shakes” Mashaba has named a strong squad to face the Super Eagles, with Meyiwa retaining his position in goal.

“I am very positive we will get something from tonight’s encounter against Nigeria. There is always a start when history is altered and I believe that start will be tonight,” said Mashaba.

Thulane Hlatshwayo, Thabo Matlaba, Eric Mathoho and Anele Ngcongca hope to keep the Nigerians from getting on the score sheet.

Bafana will expect Mandla Masango and Bongani Ndulula to provide the goals upfront, supported by the midfield of Dean Furman, Andile Jali, Oupa Manyisa and Sibusiso Vilakazi.

After scoring on his Bafana debut during their 3-0 win over Sudan, Ndulula will be looking for more of the same.

Nigeria suffered a shock 3-2 defeat to Congo in their Afcon qualifier on Saturday, but history gives them the edge over Bafana.

The two countries have met nine times in official matches.?Nigeria has won seven, one game ended in a draw and Bafana notched up a single win.

Starting line-up: Senzo Meyiwa, Thulane Hlatshwayo, Thabo Matlaba, Eric Mathoho, Anele Ngcongca, Dean Furman, Andile Jali, Mandla Masango, Bongani Ndulula, Oupa Manyisa, Sibusiso Vilakazi

Subs: Darren Keet, Sibusiso Khumalo, Rivaldo Coetzee, Kamohelo Mokotjo, Tokelo Rantie, Keagan Dolly, Thema Zwane
