Banyana Banyana coach Augustine Makalakalane, has selected a national training squad of 23 players to prepare in Pretoria for a shot at continental glory at the Caf African women’s championship to be held in Ekurhuleni, from October 31 to November 14.

The 21 players to represent the Sasol sponsored team, will be announced at a media conference in Johannesburg on Thursday – the deadline date for the registration of players with African football body, Caf.

Following two weeks of intensive training in Stellenbosch recently and friendly internationals played against Namibia, Cameroon, Tanzania and Mali this year, Makalakalane is satisfied with his team’s preparations.

“The players are pushing really hard in training to ensure they impress sufficiently to be a part of the 21-player national squad to be announced on Thursday,” said Makalakalane.
