Two men have been charged with attempted murder and robbery with aggravated circumstances for the assault of one-year-old Marzaan Kruger and her minder Francina Sekhu.

Police said they were still looking for a third suspect believed to be the ringleader of the group.

Nelson Maphosa (25) and Geraldt Nyantumbo (28), both Mozambican citizens, appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court this morning. They were arrested in Alexandra on Saturday.

Baby Kruger and Sekhu were viciously assaulted in the Kruger family home in Randburg on Thursday.

The case was postponed for further investigation.

The men were remanded to custody.
