Benni McCarthy coming to a small screen near you

2014-05-29 15:38

Lately, Bafana Bafana hero Benni McCarthy appears to be getting his kicks from marriage – and TV presenting.

McCarthy, who wore a kilt while marrying Scottish model Stacey Munro at the weekend, will host the third season of Goal Diggerz, which is set to air on Vuzu TV in South Africa from June 11.

The show mostly focuses on the “ballin life” of soccer stars off the field, promising viewers an exclusive glimpse into the lavish lives of Africa’s most successful footballers.

“From how they prepare their favourite meals to what designer labels they prefer when going out; Goal Diggerz is your premium ticket into the lavish life of Africa’s finest soccer players,” reads a statement by Vuzu TV.

The production will see McCarthy interview players including Crystal Palace-based Kagisho Dikgacoi, Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama, former Orlando Pirates star Andile Jali and French international defender Pascal Chimbonda.

“Benni is the epitome of the ultimate Goal Digger; he has scored more than 150 goals throughout his professional career, owns numerous high-end properties all over the world, has numerous luxury vehicles and recently got married.”

McCarthy (36) and Munro (30), the mother of his fourth child, Lima Rosa (1), tied the knot in Edinburgh at the weekend.
