#Bertiepretorius has officially gone viral. And it’s hilarious

2015-01-15 10:51

5FM DJ Catherine Grenfell has fallen victim to identity theft in a surprisingly hilarious case of profile picture plagiarism.

Young social media user Bertie Pretorius allegedly took Grenfell’s photograph with Dave Grohl - the frontman of American rock band Foo Fighters - and, as it appears, photoshopped his head onto Grenfell's body. Grenfell then proceeded to report the image on Facebook, and it was subsequently blocked and removed. But what transpired when she told her fans about the incident has rapidly evolved into an instant internet sensation.

Fans of the radio DJ (who is executive producer of DJ Fresh’s Fresh Drive and hosts 5FM’s popular Saturday show Live@5 ) quickly hopped aboard Pretorius’ train and quickly added their own versions of the now infamous photograph as their own profile pictures.
