Bias against prince

2010-07-31 15:24

In the article, Shenge’s Grandson Sent to Jail, Mandla Zulu showed deep hatred for Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.

He distorted all the facts surrounding the incarceration of Buthelezi’s grandson.

Why should a parent avoid punishing a child who has done wrong?

It is a fact that the prince’s grandson did wrong.

Therefore, it is right that he faces the consequences of his actions.

Going to jail serves to punish and correct an offender.

Your reporter lied when he wrote: “Buthelezi later expressed regret after his grandson was convicted, however, it had come too late.”

This never happened.

I wonder why your reporter wants to divide the Buthelezi family.

Why does he want to set Buthelezi against his son, Prince Phesheya?

For Zulu to quote an unnamed source to have said “my father is cruel and ruthless” exposes the true intentions of your reporter.

Those of us who know and work closely with Buthelezi know how much he loves his children and grandchildren.

I can produce a long list of things that he has done and continues to do for them.

This attack is part of a campaign to denigrate Buthelezi, and reporters such as Zulu derive pleasure from it.

No matter how much vitriol is directed at Buthelezi, those of us who love him and know what he has done for us and also for South Africa are not fooled by such negative articles.
