Bloem mum’s murder: please agreement on the cards

2012-03-22 11:32

The Celesté Fraser-Carson murder case is expected to be concluded soon as the state and defence are negotiating a plea and sentencing agreement.

Fraser-Carson’s lover, Quewin Coetzee (30), has been charged with the Bloemfontein mother’s murder and with escaping from police custody after her body was found in a shallow grave.

Members of the ANC Women’s League protested against bail for Coetzee outside the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court today.

But Coetzee was not asked to plead and there was no indication of whether he would apply for bail.
He remains in custody and the case was postponed to March 27.

Coetzee is being moved to Grootvlei prison again after his lawyer, Martin Scheepers, had requested that he be held at the Bainsvlei holding cells for a week to make consultation easier.
