Bolt eyes gold medal repeat at Rio

2012-10-09 11:21

Wellington – Jamaican sprint star Usain Bolt will defend his gold medals from the London and Beijing Olympics at the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Radio New Zealand reported today.

But Bolt, speaking to the press in Auckland where he was visiting for less than 24 hours as part of a tour promoting a soft drinks sponsor, ruled out trying the long jump.

He said the 100 and 200 metres and the 4x100m relay would continue to be his focus over the next four years.

Bolt holds unprecedented consecutive gold medals from the 2008 and 2012 Olympics in all three events.
