My eight-year-old daughter Neo found My Daddy Says a useful tool to improve her reading now that she’s in Grade 2.

She was fascinated by the fact that the subject is close to her heart – she is, after all, daddy’s little girl.

“I can read every line in the book but I think you and I can draw better than them,” she chuckled, in reference to the illustrations by Angie Stevens.

By the way, Neo can draw too, so she was able to liken Steven’s drawing technique to the “join-the-dots” exercise she mastered during her time in preschool.

“I like the book so much, I will keep it for my little sisters to use when they are able to read,” she said.
