Bottleneck league programme for FC AK

2011-09-22 13:01

Controversy prone National First Division (NFD) side FC AK will play seven games in five weeks as part of their catch-up programme, the PSL announced today.

This after the ownership dispute was settled this week, just eight days before the Eldorado Park was about to be kicked out by the PSL.

FC AK will kick off their league programme against Bay United at Eldorado Park Stadium on Wednesday.

There won’t be any time to recover afterwards – including during the Fifa calendar date on October when local clubs will be off duty – as FC AK will have six more fixtures to play in a short space of time.

PSL CEO Zola Majavu said the FC AK issue had impacted negatively on the league at the time when the PSL was in search for a sponsorship of the now one-stream league.
