Businessman goes large for his 26th

Durban businessman Jabulani Ngcobo is set to spend R1 million on a two-day birthday extravaganza this weekend.

Ngcobo, the chief executive of financial services and investment company Cashflow Pro, will celebrate his 26th birthday with loaded business people and celebrities, including Khanyi Mbau, Dumisane Mbebe, Winnie Modise, Mutodi Neshehe and Khabonina Qubeka will attend.

It is rumoured that Mbau has been paid a whopping R35 000 for her appearance but the event coordinator, Cindy Dube, would only say “we spent a whole lot of money on this event”.

The party starts at the exclusive Coastlands Hotel in Durban on Saturday night and is followed by a yacht cruise on Sunday from Wilson’s Wharf along the waterfront – the destination has been kept a surprise.

Dube promised “the mother of all parties”, saying the guests will be treated to expensive drinks and Khanyi’s presence entail the “availability of sushi” in the house.

“I am not sure if there will be any near-naked models for sushi, but definitely, sushi will be served. We are not imitating anyone by organising this extravagant party but, of course, it’s going to be the best birthday party ever. The theme is all bling and more entertainment,” said Dube.

She said security would be very tight for both the cruise and the hotel event.

Mbau, Qubeka and other local DJ’s will perform.
