I’m so

happy... Survivor is finally over. I missed everything and everyone at

home, and in the last few days I would’ve killed for a Bar One chocolate.

Obviously I’m thrilled to have won.

On the island, I learned... that biting my tongue was something I had to get used to. Only

after watching the show on TV did I realise how Ashley (Survivor runner-up) made

alliances with so many people.

People don’t realise... how close the showgirl community in South Africa is. I’ve received

immense support from them.

Women who strip... use the money to support their families, study and even as a second

income. Some of them might be in the boardroom during the day and at the

Lollipop Lounge at night. It’s not always this seedy business of ‘women who were

abused as kids who live in dire poverty’ scenario.

The showgirl business... is very competitive. It’s mean because if you want to make the most

money, you have to be better than the last girl.

Being a good businesswoman... means you need to differentiate between trying to console the girls

who may have had a bad day and being a manager and professional.

Growing up in Paarl... meant my dad and I would always end up climbing some mountain. His

love for nature has definitely had an influence on me.

I started off...

in the theatre before becoming a dancer. I completed my degree in drama 15

years ago.

want to talk about all sorts of things and are never given the chance to.

I don’t know how many times men have to come to Lollipop Lounge and just ended

up talking to one of the dancers.

Andrew Phillips... is the guru of strip clubs in South Africa and I have a lot of

admiration for him. He runs the Grand strip club like a well-oiled ship.
