Celebs show support for Caster

Caster Semenya had the backing of many local celebrities as she ran in the 800m heat.

South Africans united again as many tuned in to see the 21-year-old qualify with ease for the 800m semis, finishing second with a time of 2:00:71.

Former cricket commentator Kass Naidoo tweeted: “Good run from #CasterSemenya. Nice and measured with a strong finish. #GoGirls”

Rally racer Gugu Zulu wrote: “Nyc Caster, well done #ProudlySA #LondonOlympics.”

Caster will race again tomorrow in her semifinal.
