Charlize Theron’s locally made film, Mad Max: Fury Road, will only hit screens in May 2015.

The fourth instalment in the dystopian Mad Max movie franchise will see Theron starring as Imperator Furiosa, dressed in leather and chasing around barren wastelands on a quest for revenge.

But back at home in Los Angeles, the 38-year-old Benoni-born beauty appears madly in love with her new boyfriend, 53-year-old actor Sean Penn.

They were first spotted together in early January in Hawaii and have since become a regular sighting with Theron’s adopted toddler son, Jackson, in tow.

They even turned heads kissing furiously at a star-studded Oscar afterparty hosted by Penn’s ex-wife, Madonna.

Sinead Brennan, who describes herself as a “personal shopper and stylist”, posted a picture of the pair on Twitter.

Penn is pulling faces at three-year-old Jackson, who is seated in a shopping trolley.

“A cooler couple you could not find ... Sean Penn & Charlize Theron two of my all time favorite people...” wrote Brennan.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reported that aerial photographs of Penn’s Malibu home reveal that baby-proofing measures had been undertaken at the property.

Snaps show that a new fence was installed around the swimming pool and a trampoline has been placed in the back yard – fuelling speculation that Theron and Jackson might be moving in.

Mad Max Fury Road was filmed in Swakopmund in Namibia and in Cape Town in 2012. At the time, Theron was seen cuddling baby Jackson between shoots at the seaside town.

She also stopped by at Swakopmunder Apotheke to stock up on vitamins, shampoo, Nivea facial cream and lemon grass-infused Radox shower gel.

“It was quite strange,” said Melvoureen Cloete, who works at the pharmacy.

“She skipped the fancy, expensive counters and bought Nivea make-up remover and just ordinary shampoo. She was very, very friendly.”
