Children die in toilet accident

2011-10-22 10:15

Two children have died and another two are in hospital after they allegedly drowned while playing in a toilet in Senaoane, Soweto, Gauteng police said today.

The accident occurred yesterday afternoon at about 4pm when the four children accidentally locked themselves in the toilet, Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said.

Two children, aged three and six, were found dead. He said that a post mortem would determine the exact cause of death, though drowning was suspected.

The two other children were still in hospital this morning. An inquest had been opened to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
