Cold front may bring snow tomorrow

A cold front set to hit the country may bring snow with it, the SA Weather Service said.

“We anticipate cold to very cold conditions over the Cape provinces from tomorrow, with possible snowfall over the interior of the Western and Eastern Cape,” spokesperson Puseletso Mofokeng said.

Heavy rain was expected along the Cape south coast and adjacent interior areas.

Mofokeng said that “bitterly cold weather” with possible snowfall would spread across the country on Monday to Lesotho, the southern Drakensberg and parts of the Free State.

People in Gauteng should brace themselves for very cold weather on Tuesday and Wednesday.

“We are expecting a complete recovery from Thursday.”
