Diepsloot man in court for driving over girlfriend

2011-05-11 12:46

A man accused of driving over his girlfriend appeared briefly in the Atteridgeville Magistrates Court today, Gauteng police said.

Daniel Nemasisi would remain in custody until his formal bail application next Thursday, Warrant Officer Daniel Mavimbela said.

Nemasisi was arrested yesterday in Diepsloot after he allegedly hit his girlfriend with his car after the two argued.

While she was on the ground, he allegedly drove over her, then went on to hit a shack and knock down a wall and a palisade fence with his Toyota Tazz.

Local residents caught him as he tried to run to the local police station.

“The suspect was caught before he entered the police station and was handed to the police. The woman was treated on the scene and taken to hospital in a serious condition.”
