Don’t ask how much – just imagine

2010-10-16 14:42

If you have to ask how much it is, you probably can’t afford it. The maxim came to mind as we gawked at the Montblanc John Lennon edition sets.

The luxury goods brand, famous for its fountain pens, was honouring the late music legend in the week he would have turned 70.

The setting at Sandton Sun’s San Deck was sheer elegance, with large stylish fire pits and deck recliners dotted around the rooftop.

The white paper flowers were a decor revelation.
We got a glimpse of Uyanda Mbuli in turquoise-and-black rocking diamante heels. She told us she was sick of wearing flatties because of her ankle injury and had decided to suffer for beauty.

Edith Venter and husband Johnny Schwartz still look smitten with each other, and the way Venter was eyeing those haute Montblancs make us think Schwartz will either be getting a very expensive Christmas present or paying for one.

Jen Su looked good for once in a strapless blue mini and minimal accessories. Apparently madam used to be a Montblanc ambassador in Asia – which would explain her appropriate dress sense on the night.

But really, the night belonged to the Montblancs.

Only 70 John Lennon Limited Editions were created. The skeleton is made up of the word Imagine (Lennon’s iconic song) in white gold, a sapphire insert on the guitar clip references Lennon’s trademark blue glasses and three diamonds mark the chords for the famous song.

To call it a pen would be sacrilegious. And this is just one of four Lennon edition sets.

Maybe it’s time to polish our tenderpreneurship skills .?.?.
