Drug bust nets R3m worth of tik

2010-06-19 11:02

A drug bust on the N1 highway outside Beaufort West has resulted in

the confiscation of tik with an estimated street value of R3 million, Western

Cape police said today.

Police stopped a yellow Volvo bus in the early hours of yesterday

morning travelling from Johannesburg to Cape Town, said Captain Bernadine

Steyn said: “The bus was searched during which a box containing ten

plastic bags of tik, about 10.5kg, was found.

The drugs were not in the

immediate possession of any person on the bus and therefore nobody has been

arrested at this stage.”
