Dumped dog becomes media star

2010-09-21 14:42

London – A lame dog limping after the man who abandoned it by the side of the road has become an overnight media star after the scene was captured on video.

The dog’s story – and its picture – was published across Britain’s media today. The female Shetland terrier mix is at a shelter, but has yet to be adopted.

Security camera footage – shot last week outside a defence engineering company in the English resort town of Weymouth – showed an unidentified man stepping out of his blue hatchback and dumping the dog in the woods.

The distressed mutt tries to chase after the car as it drives off, but soon gives up.

BMT Defence Services’ marketing manager Johanna Probert says that an employee witnessed the incident and took the dog to a local veterinarian.
